STAY IN THE KNOW...
Our Story
Ten-plus years of countless memories and milestones; one inevitable conclusion: it’s about time.

When it all began...
HOW WE MET & THE FIRST DATE
It all started with a swipe to the right on Tinder (yes, those really were our profile photos)—sparked in no small part by a shared love of video games (Mortal Kombat at the time).
Our first date took us to Taco Mac, where Charles was introduced to two of John’s favorite things: craft beer and chips & queso—two loves that are still going strong today.
Between theatre rehearsals and early-morning Starbucks shifts, it didn’t take long for us to realize that no matter how busy life became, we always wanted to make time for each other. From the very beginning, there was an easy, natural comfort between us. There was no pressure to constantly fill the time; we were just as happy sitting in comfortable silence as we were gaming or going about our everyday routines.
John came into the relationship as a proud dog dad to Seppe—a lovable, high-energy, slightly unruly bachelor’s dog who thrived on chaos. As we spent more time together, Charles slowly earned Seppe’s trust (and obedience), bringing a little structure to the madness. Before long, the dynamic shifted just enough to spark a running joke: Seppe was still John’s dog… but everyone knew who he really listened to.

It's getting serious...
BECOMING FAMILY
From weekend dinners to shared vacations, it didn’t take long for our two worlds to merge. Integrating our lives felt effortless—so much so that even our family holiday rotation schedules aligned naturally.
As we spent time with each other’s close friends and extended families across Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Colorado, Ohio, South Carolina, and Indiana, one common thread became clear again and again: family was and is always the priority.
What began as a “match” quickly grew into something deeper—it was a perfect fit.

Putting down roots...
BUYING OUR FIRST HOME
Building a life together meant finding a place of our own to grow. Buying a first home is often considered one of the most stressful experiences in any relationship—and we chose to take it on during a pandemic, in an especially competitive housing market. Because why not make it interesting?
By leaning on each other, calling in a few favors, and trusting the people around us, everything came together. From our first walk-through to going under contract and closing, the entire process took less than 30 days.
We love our home in Canton, where we have our own space, great neighbors, and a little quiet from the noise of the big city— all while staying close enough to family to keep what matters most within reach.

The right place...
OUR 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY & ENGAGEMENT
We celebrated ten years together in Switzerland, originally drawn there because it was hosting the Eurovision Song Contest—fitting, since the contest itself was born there.
What started as a trip for music quickly turned into so much more. Between the incredible views, the unforgettable food, and the warmth of the people and culture, Switzerland immediately felt right.
We were also struck by the Swiss attention to time—trains, trams, and buses that run almost magically on schedule, and watchmaking treated as a serious art. Somewhere along the way, we started joking, “it’s about time…” The phrase stuck, becoming both our wedding theme and a playful nod to ten years together. We even brought home Swiss watches from a Lucerne-based company that’s been making them since 1888.
We went into the trip knowing we’d leave engaged, but somehow, once again, everything just felt right. It truly became the best adventure of our lives.

The right time...
OCTOBER 3, 2026
What began as a simple connection grew, step by step, into something lasting and full of meaning. Along the way, we’ve been shaped and supported by the people we love—family, friends, and chosen family who’ve been part of this journey from the start.
Now, on October 3rd, 2026, we can’t wait to celebrate and say “I do”—surrounded by those who guided us long before we found each other and those who have supported and walked alongside us throughout our story. On this day, it all comes together—
and it’s about time.
